Birthday socks – the verdict

Wow! they’re really cool. I’m going to put them on right now.
(Up til 2.30am finishing them, woken at 6am for “breakfast”, going back to bed now.)

He also announced, in tones of considerable surprise, “they fit!” and wore them to school (against uniform regulations of course) and apparently his friends were “quite impressed” with them.
My sleep deficit was more severe than anticipated. I woke in the afternoon at the moment 2ndS and I were supposed to be catching a train for somewhere to do something. So now, all of a sudden, it’s time to take the teenager out for his birthday steak.
Time flies in all sorts of ways. Yes, an official teenager. Crikey.
A teenager is very scary. But perhaps not in those tres hip socks.
They are deeply cool.

Really really cool! Now you’ll have to do another version for the little one, right? I do believe these would sell like hotcakes, should you wish for hotcakes.
He’s had to be forced to relinquish them to the washing machine. I think a resounding success.
Unfortunately hand knitting is not an economically viable activity in this country. The minimum wage is more than £5.00 per hour. A pair of socks, for a child, knitting flat out, takes me more than 8 hours to make. The materials cost about £6. It would be difficult to charge even that much for a pair of socks so one would end up barely covering costs.
